Burn $DPR for Credit Score

Burning DPR is for users who lost their credit score, due to the failure to pass heartbeat checks. Doing this will allow the user to get their credit score back. Below are the steps to burn DPR to recover their lost credit score.

Step 1: Install the Polkadot js extension on your browser. Import and log into your Deeper wallet. If you have not installed it yet, please follow this tutorial: https://deeper-network.medium.com/how-to-create-a-deeper-chain-polkadot-wallet-a90d6e03873a

Step 2: Log into AtomOS. Input your password and download the private key file from the Mining > Wallet > Wallet Management tab.

Step 3: Open the private key file, and copy the private key.

Step 4: Go to apps.deeper.network. Under the “Accounts” tab, click “+ Add account”.

Then choose “Raw seed” from the dropdown menu, paste your private key into the “seed” (hex or string) box, then check “I have saved my mnemonic seed safely” and click “Next

Step 5: Name your account, set up a password, and click “Next

Step 6: Click “Save

Step 7: Go to the dropdown menu of “Developer”, and click “Extrinsics
① Choose “credit” from the dropdown list on the left
② Choose “burnForAddCredit(creditScore)” from the dropdown list of the right
③ Type the number of credit scores you want to burn.

*Note:
1 credit score = 50 DPR
The maximum credit score you can recover is the difference between your highest-ever credit score and your current credit score.
Burning is NOT applicable for upstake. If you want to burn for your lost credit score, it has to be done before you upstake.

For example:
John’s highest credit score he’s ever had was 456. Due to a recent move, his device was offline for 60 days, and his credit score dropped from 456 to 436. In this case, John can burn 456–436 = 20 credits.
So John must burn 1,000 DPR (50 DPR x 20) in order to get 20 credits.

④ Click “Submit Transaction

Step 8: Input your password and click “Sign and Submit.” The system will update your credit within 5 seconds.
